Local Bookshops

40/42 The Broadway, Wimbledon, London SW19 1RQ, UK – 020 3544 6720

Helpful staff, happy to match their online prices and whilst a bit more than the big A it's worth it to support a high street bookstore!

Quite small which inevitably limits choice. Books mainly at list price. Unbeatable for last minute purchases.

Wimbledon Books

40 High Street Wimbledon, Wimbledon, London SW19 5AU, UK – 020 8879 3101

A lovely bookshop. Always some interesting titles, great range of subjects, very efficient ordering service, pleasant and knowledgeable staff. My only quibble (in response to Yurly Krvavych's review) is the volume of loud, shouting children and their equally loud parents, at weekends.

Wonderful experience. Super friendly and helpful. Went in there to find some books for some godchildren. Girls and boys aged 3 to 8. Wonderfully helpful staff picked out three and all were very well received.

Copperfield Books

37 Hartfield Road, London, Greater London SW19 3SG, UK – 020 8542 0113

An absolute gem, my favourite secondhand bookstore in London. It is actually a minimally converted house with around 73,000 books in 94 different sections. Navigating the store is like weaving through a tight maze of books stacked up almost to the ceiling. It is truly an adventure, with plenty of treasures to be found. The stock is added to regularly, so even those looking for classic literature will surely find a nice edition or two. This shop even has books that are several centuries old, but still in unbelievably good condition. The staff are very nice too. Visit if you can.

Nice shop, great selection, had to stop myself from buying too much! Owner was really friendly too. Looking forward to returning!
